At Ry Group, we offer a range of services, from installing completely new central heating systems to changing individual radiator valves. Whether you prefer designer radiators, cast iron radiators, or standard white panel radiators, we can accommodate your needs. No job is too big or small for us.

The cost of changing valves or radiators depends on various factors. These include the type of central heating system you have, the size of the property requiring drainage and refill, and the specifications of the pipe routes or products involved. Rest assured, we provide transparent pricing and will guide you through the process.
It's important to note that when installing new radiators or changing thermostatic radiator valves, your central heating system needs to be drained down. This provides an excellent opportunity to assess if any other valves or radiators require replacement. While this is the most time-consuming part of the process, our expert plumbers will ensure efficient and reliable service.
At Ry Group, we understand that cost is an important consideration when it comes to fitting radiators. That's why we offer competitive prices and transparent pricing structures. You can trust our experienced team to provide you with a fair and accurate estimate, ensuring you receive the best value for your money.

Frequently Asked Questions
A Central Heating Engineer will understand the required BTU output for the size of the room. BTU is an acronym. It stands for British Thermal Unit. It's a form of measurement that measures energy. One BTU refers to the amount of energy that's required to increase the temperature of a pound of water by 1° .
BTU's are worked out by the size of the room, you can then find the correct Radiators with the required BTU output. You can try an online free BTU calculator such as
https://radiatorsonline.com/btu-calculator
Once you have established your required BTU output you can then look for radiators with the correct output or more that fit your style and size requirement.
When considering the size of the radiators, you also have to take into account your existing pipework. If you have carpet and floorboards its relatively easily to amend the pipework and come up neatly through the floorboards. However if you have wooden flooring or a concrete partition in flats, you may want to get as close as possible to the existing pipework positions and therefore radiator size. The other option is to run the pipework on show, and for aesthetics, paint the pipes or box it in afterwards.
The main reasons that radiators stop working effectively or stop working at all are:
- Radiator valves being stuck or requiring replacement. Usually this only effects 1-2 radiators and there will be no heat at all.
- Sludge in the system, or debris in the radiators themselves. This usually causes symptoms of patchy radiator heat and or heating in parts of the property.
- The boiler or central heating pump stops working at 100% capacity, or fails completely. This can cause constant air locks, partial heating or no heating at all.
- Thermostat Failure. This can cause your heating not to operate at all, and or come on at funny times.
- Zone valves. This can cause no heating at all or your heating only operating with your hot water.
There are many new smart home solution systems on the market.
Depending on how far you want to go with smart home automation.
For individual and room radiator control we recommend the Tado system as this can control your heating and hot water on an individual basis.
Where as the nest thermostat for example will just control all of your radiators.
