Ry Group reserve the right to charge a 50% cancellation fee on the quoted labour - and charge for any materials that cannot be returned in full or a minimum restocking fee of 30% should they be returnable.

Cancellation Notice Required: 

Under £600 Labour Cost of total works or remaining works (24hrs minimum required)

Over £600 - £1000 Labour Cost of total works or remaining works (48 hours minimum required)

Over £1000 Labour Cost of total works or remaining works (5 working days minimum required) 

Notice will be calculated within working hours only. There may be exceptional circumstances we do not apply a charge for cancellation but this will be down to the discretion of the company and each individual circumstance.

Ry provide training to all of our staff on our hourly processes. Ensuring we provide clear transparent communication. This includes, explaining on the phone and online booking how our hourly charges work i.e a minimum of one hours charge and per 30 minute increments there after. The engineer on site will also keep you updated if you are present within reason. Or you can advise us upon booking your time limit of hours to work too - for exmaple if your a landlord who is not present. 

All of our vans and engineers software devices are tracked. This ensures we can log when they arrive and leave.

Is this sometimes wrong? Yes of course we have had it before when the internet may of not updated there tablet providing the wrong time frame on site, in which case - the customer has notified us and Ry are quick to look into it and rectify any mistakes.

We are also very fair with our hourly rate if there are over by 4 minutes we assume some time is lost and will just round the time down.

Where possible we love to provide fixed costs. As this provides clarity for all parties.

However, with certain jobs where a repair is required, until an engineer attends to work on it. We cannot be sure of the problem, if we can repair what's there or if parts and extra time are required to estimate to return.

For example: Mrs Brown Rings and says that her toilet is not flushing. There can be a few things that can cause a bad flush - some can be fixed just by adjusting the toilet innards, some may need a new siphon - some may be a blockage. We also do not know (unless we have pictures) what type of toilet innards you have, some are in stock items and some may be special order. Therefore there are so many variables we can never guarantee a first time fix or a fixed cost. We can only keep our pricing transparent - communication good and ensure we follow up promptly with a  solution or next steps.

Therefore your diagnostic and attempted repair fee (per hour), is to pay for the expertise of a skilled tradesmen to try and fix your issue there and then or to provide a cost to get you to a solution.

This may be on the same day with attending to get parts or by providing a quote to return with special order parts depending on the situation.

We would only provide a free estimate or quotation when you can tell us exactly what you need doing and our engineer does not need to bring in tools or spend time finding the problem to be able to provide that estimate.

I.e Mrs Brown Rings and says I would like a new toilet. Or Mrs Brown Rings and says my central heating pump has failed can you give me a cost?

Some estimates can be done via the office with pictures such as the central heating pump for example. Some will require a site visit such as an electrical re-wire or boiler installation. We also provide an online instant price and book system, or offerings of video estimates for simpler works to give our customers more specific appointments.

We cannot say if we can fix an issue in one visit, there so are so many determining factors that effect this.

1. The extent of the issue - as sometimes we need a lot more time than anticipated.
2. If parts are required, do we have them on us? Are they in stock near by? Will it be economical with traffic and time to try to get them today? Are they order in parts?

However, we can say that by having skilled engineers in specific trades, well stocked vans, asking detailed questions upon booking and accounts at many merchants. We give ourselves the best possible chance of being able to provide a first time fix.

If you can tell us what you want and need doing/replacing we can provide you with a free estimate. We only advise a chargeable visit if

1. You don't know what you need to get a repair or solution and so it may be a diagnostic per hour charge initially.
2. If we carry out a free estimate but you need tools to get test results to determine the suitability of certain systems. Or if  you would like us to provide a detailed specification or product research we may advise survey costs will have to apply to provide an accurate cost.

Ry have van stock lists for each skill and trade specific to the type of jobs we usually attend.

We will not carry parts that are specific to makes and models of boilers or light fittings for example as there are thousands, and all determined on makes and models and the year of manufacturer.

However we will carry parts that are common and or universal to some extent such as Thermostats, Transformers, Zone valves, Standard Pumps, Some Toilet innards, Some light fittings etc etc

We also carry out regular Van Stock checks for feedback from engineers and depletion of stock.

We will charge for the time it takes to leave site and attend to get parts for a job, this will be advised before we leave site. This is as its still time it takes to complete the job. In some instances (depending on where the nearest merchant is) it may be more economical and efficient to return a following day with us collecting parts prior as we then do not have to charge this time and instead we usually charge 20-30% sourcing and collection fee. This will all be weighed up depending on the type of parts/jobs/location.
