When it comes to Power Flushing, we believe in using only the finest equipment, including top-of-the-line Powerflush Machines, Magnets, and Chemicals. By employing the best tools in the industry, we ensure that you receive optimal Power flush results.
Are you wondering what the cost of a Power flush is? We take the time to understand your specific situation by asking questions such as why you believe a Powerflush is necessary, the symptoms you are experiencing, and the number of radiators in your property. Based on this information, we provide a transparent and fair cost estimate for carrying out the Powerflush. Typically, our pricing is based on a full or half-day basis, and you can find detailed information about our power flush costs on our dedicated prices page.
Let's delve into what exactly a Powerflush entails. This process involves connecting a high-power machine and introducing specially formulated chemicals into your heating pipes. Additionally, any water storage tanks are thoroughly cleaned as part of the procedure. It's important to note that a Powerflush is far more comprehensive than a basic chemical flush, as it effectively tackles the root causes of heating system issues.
The duration of a Powerflush depends on factors such as the severity of water quality and the size of your property. If you've been experiencing symptoms like uneven heat distribution from your radiators or intermittent hot water in your taps and showers, these are indicators that a Powerflush might be necessary to resolve the underlying issues.
While a Powerflush provides an effective solution to your current symptoms, we recommend taking preventive measures to keep your system clean in the future. One such measure is the installation of a Magnetic System Filter, which acts as a sieve to capture any debris circulating in your power flush heating system. To learn more about the pricing for fitting a Magnetic System Filter, please refer to the relevant section on our page.

Frequently Asked Questions
We would always advise a diagnostic visit before carrying out a Powerflush by a Ry Central Heating Repair Engineer. If you have been told by a third party company you require a Powerflush, it may solve your issue. However when the water quality is poor, overtime it can cause your Central Heating Pump to stop operating properly and clog up boiler components such as your Plate Heat Exchanger.
A Powerflush may be the best starting point. However until the water is clear and has been flushed through the system, you may also need to hand clean components such as your plate heat exchanger or replace your pump also.
If you have a home care cover in place, often the company will advise you need a Powerflush before they will carry out anymore work under your policy. This is as it can be so detrimental to Components and Boiler Parts and so they don't want to have to pay for repairs that they may be able to avoid. In this case its likely the Powerflush wont fix all of your problems, but will ensure you can then start targeting your issues under your policy.
You don't have to have a Powerflush. However, it's always advised by Ry to do so.
This is for a few reasons:
- If you brought a new car would you fill it with old dirty oil that could clog up the engine? ... our guess is no. This is exactly the same as your heating system. If you fit a brand new boiler the sludgy or dirty water can clog up the boiler and will effect your Boiler & Central Heating Systems life span.
- You will get a manufacturers guarantee with a new boiler. They will have in their T&C's they will not cover any boiler defects that are caused from dirty central heating water.
- Powerflushing costs are discounted when alongside a new Boiler Installation. This is as the engineers are on site and can have the machine on whilst carry out some of the work.
