The job was for the trace and fix of a leak and we were worried that it would be a huge job of ripping up bathroom tiles, but luckily Paul was able to identify where the leak was coming from, by taking off the bathroom panel, advise on the issue and fixed it within two hours - much to our relief. He was friendly, worked quickly and cleaned up afterwards - really happy to have contacted Ry Group and would do so again!

This is now the 2nd time I have used this South London based Gas engineers group. Our kitchen extractor hood needed replacement, so we had called Ry. Their engineer arrived and claimed that the brand new hood was broken. So, we had to order a replacement. We arranged another engineer to carry out the job, who failed to turn up on the day of the appointment saying that there was childcare issue. He finally arrived the following day to carry out the work, we were disappointed when he said that he doesn’t have the necessary equipment to fix the hood. And, this was after reminding the office twice to ask the engineer to bring the right tools! Then he came the following day, the job was finally done. However, they charged us in error for a second day’s job too. They didn’t even try to confirm the figure with us by phone, just emailed an invoice and charged our card that they has stored the details of when we had used them on a separate occasion without our knowledge!When we realised that they had double charged us, we phoned their office. The receptionist kept saying that she will call us back , but she never did. We had to chase the refund. Which we finally received but after chasing them for about a week.They also don’t accept bank transfer payments but only card payments, which is a hassle, as not everyone is comfortable paying over the phone, especially as they store your card details, for instance, they did, in our case.Update: We thought of giving them another chance, we called them again their plumbing in January 2023 to fix our cracked bath, they didn't stay true to the quote, the bath was not exactly how we wanted, we were not asked about if we were happy with it, unsatisfactory work, the bath was still leaking, they visited again, fixed it, so it is not leaking in our kitchen now, however, it still has problem with leaks, it leaks on the bathroom floor itself.

No complaints about the quality of work, tidiness, punctuality etc. but there were some negatives. In particular (1) RyGas reserve the right to charge a 50% cancellation charge if you do not cancel within 24 hours, however they only notified me of the planned arrival time of the engineer at 7PM the evening before via email which was less than 24 hours from the appointment time; (2) I was charged significantly more than quoted for the job, which was disappointing given that the engineer didn't know how to do the job initially and needed to "phone a friend" to figure out what to do, so claiming the job took longer than expected seems unreasonable - I resent paying for someone to learn on the job; (3) the engineer took away the old tap without asking what I wanted to do with this - as it happened it was a new tap which had only been installed as a temporary replacement to the original tap which had broken so I am down £100 on a perfectly good tap and charged 50% more than I expected for a simple job.Uodate: In fairness to Ry group they did contact me after this review was published and credited me back so that I was charged the price originally quoted. I appreciated the response and have uprated accordingly

RyGas saved us once again. Their phone lines are manned by extremely proficient and helpful staff, who immediately put you at ease & do their best to sort out quick appointments / solutions. On this occasion a plumber materialised faster than expected, despite it being a Bank Holiday, & we received the usual courtesey call/s to inform / update us. Operatives always try to work quickly & efficiently & they don't dilly dally to up the charges, which some unreliables unfortunately do. RyGas are reliable. They explain their charges up front and on each visit, we have encountered very personable, well trained and competent staff. I am happy to recommend RyGas to others.

Ryan and his team deserve top marks for their outstanding work on the complete refurbishment of our flat in Richmond.They installed new wiring, plumbing, heating and flooring; fitted a new boiler, bathroom, kitchen, doors and cupboards; in addition they did all the plastering and painting.All the team members were extremely professional, friendly and punctiliously tidy. We had a plumber from the Ry Group come round to do some small jobs, disconnecting a gas heater and oven and adding a pipe fitting for washing machine and dishwasher and were happy with the outcome. Given we had recently moved into an old property which needs a fair bit of work we thought we’d ask for a quote to fit a shower pump to help with low water pressure as didn’t want to do anything major given we’d be ripping the whole bathroom out in due course. We then had 2 engineers (there for the other jobs) take a look at the work required and where to install the pump.When the engineer (different one) came round to fit the pump said it couldn't be fitted to the hot water cylinder and installed it next to the open vent in the attic. Once installed on running the shower and other taps in the house that had previously worked fine there was now spurting and alternating low pressure due to air being sucked in. As a solution the engineer came round again a few days later (with an additional charge) to fit some pipes to try and remove the air before it came into the pump. This initially made a marginal improvement but after a couple of weeks it left the pump struggling and again periodically shutting on and off.We decided to get a second opinion from a different plumber who came round and wasn't impressed with the work that was carried out. Feedback was that it looked like a DIY job and would never have worked. Additionally based on the pump manufacturer's instructions it states for the pump to be installed within 5m of the hot water cylinder which it has not. It also states it needs to be taken directly off the cylinder, but instead has been taken off the open vent. Due to the distance between the pump and cylinder, it is running dry when used as the water cannot keep up with the pump.We gave this feedback to Ry Group who tried to imply it was our decision to cite the pump where it was put. When they reluctantly sent the senior engineer around (which they offered without a call out charge which was a minimum I'd expect for close to £1k for something that didn't work) he also said wouldn't work where it was. We then asked for it to be correctly installed which then triggered another quote for £500-600. Given this was to rectify a problem of their making I said it seems only fair that we cover any new materials required but felt labour shouldn't be charged again given the work we'd previously paid for was ultimately pointless and should never have been done. To this we never heard back.We regret we used this company to begin with given the complete waste of money, however, the one positive take away from this is that we’ve found a great plumbing company in the meantime who we know can get the job done and done correctly without any issues.

Staff were polite and courteous when taking my call, and after a brief conversation, suggested an engineer to visit to troubleshoot my problem. I received an email and text the day before the appointment, and the engineer arrived bang on time. He (George) was polite, courteous and professional; he explained his work and his conclusions, and the suggested remedial works. I was advised that a quotation would be emailed to me in due course, and it arrived the day after. The cost of the work was in line with other companies. Overall, a good customer experience.

I called this company for an emergency call out for my boiler. Engineer came spent 35mins on bolier then another 20mins in his car apparently ordering a Pressure release valve which he didn't carry with him.. was charged £174 but nothing was fixed they wanted another £145/£200 to replace a £20 valve with another visit which would be booked in on another day .. so I was left without hot water .. I feel ripped off by this company.. Also the engineer left his blue foot covers on the road outside my house and didn't even explain anything to my mother in law about what's going on now .. very unprofessional ..

Excellent service from Ry again. I have used them for many years for various plumbing and electrical issues and have always had a first class experience. I had an electrical issue late Friday night and called the out of hours emergency contact, who went out his way to have an electrician contact me to run through a small issue I had but needed some expertise. I received a call from the engineer within 10 minutes from an extremely helpful man, who took his time to fullt go through my issue and resolve. These kind of gestures show why I have used Ry for so many years and continue to recommend their work and professionalism!

We've had our boiler serviced by Ry Gas for the past couple years without an issue but this time they found a part was broken. Received the estimate for new part and had a couple questions, mostly about replacing the boiler all together, and now haven't heard from them despite following up, and they've just charged for the incomplete service.Engineer on the day also didn't explain the situation properly so we were expecting "a call from his boss to talk through options" (his words) which never happened. Bit of a shame as they're a local company who people recommend. The lady on the phone said they were busy but to not reply to emails is a bit odd.

Boiler broke down on a weekend, had them come out and the guy spent only 15 min to mis-diagnosed (PCB issue was told) it and needed further 2 visits to resolve due to the initial mis diagnosis. Called the boiler company on weekday and after 5 min conversation got a correct diagnosis and told to change the gas exchanger. Once they replaced that part - boiler worked perfectly. Initially told me they wouldn't charge for the additional visit but lied as the money was taken out. Contacted them 2x and still no call back or investigation.*Edit - After the review they did finally reach out and we were able to settle it and the admin issues that had occured - amended from 1/5 to 3/5. Shows that if a customer is unhappy they will follow up but only occured after this review was left.

We have used them to service our Worcester Bosch boiler and for plumbing and guttering works.Every person at that company we have dealt with has been really good. office staff are polite and efficient. the engineers arrive right on time and are fully prepared for the job, know their stuff and do the work to a high standard. can't recommend them enough

RyGas installed a boiler/central heating system in my flat. There had previously been nothing in place but two ancient gas heaters that couldn't be used, so it was quite an involved job, starting from scratch. They did a fantastic job from the moment they arrived, kept me informed the whole time and made sure I came home to a nice tidy place each day while the work was going on, and then a nice toastie place when the work was completed! RyGas/RySparks also did several plumbing and electrical jobs for me while the boiler work was going on, as I had a load of things that needed fixing or upgrading. Again, everything was carried out super efficiently and I'm really pleased with it all. I would highly recommend using RyGas. They are professional, friendly and provide an excellent service.

Had a new boiler & power flush. From start to finish, RyGas is clearly a company that takes pride in its customer service. They were professional and on task from start to finish. The cost of the works was competitive and the fitter was absolutely lovely. I didn't even know he was there or had been in my home except for the fact that I had heating downstairs again! There really were no negatives, I was very pleased and would recommend.

Rygas came and gave a quote for replacing a downstairs very old toilet and replacement of taps and a click clack plug hole. We received the quote quickly. We also had asked 2 other companies to come and review. Jason rang up and asked me if I had received the quote. At the time my husband was very hesitant as he was concerned that in replacing this toilet would lead to it jutting out further in a very tight space. Jason reassured me that they would do their best to source a suitable toilet which they did.Frankie came to do the work and did an amazing job, was cheerful, hardworking and conscientious and we are delighted with the finished product!I would also like to thank the office staff for helping to source suitable products. I would have no hesitation in recommending this company. A big thank you!
